Deep Fake

by BILIJIE & EMPTY SPEECH BUBBLE

Album release date: October 14, 2021

For the past few months Bilijie and collaborator Empty Speech Bubble have been recording themes about the fake avatars of people generated by AI. Images like these are frequently used online to give bots a human overlay, as a method of garnering influence. Every day we average internet consumers are living through a constant Turing test to determine real vs fake, human vs machine, in those we interact with. A physical body is no longer necessary. What happens when the software passes the test? What thoughts and dreams do these avatars have? By accepting the veracity of trolls and bots, can we actually project empathy on them? Can we learn from them?
